Did you know that Bluefins has a target of over £15,000 fundraising in 2008/2009 season in order to make its budget balance?

We have already two main sponsors (with value over £10,000 in 2009) :

• Associated British Ports PLC (the largest port operator in the UK). Vist their website at abports.co.uk
• ICF (a haulage operator for bulk powder tankers in South East UK)

Other sponsors will follow, and there are more initiatives to increase club income :

Sportsmatch (lottery funded via SportEngland)

We are working on a new sponsor worth £8,000 in 2009, to pay for the training/development of teachers for Sue Lambert's Lessons programme and Sportsmatch can double it to £16,000 when we are sucessful.

Seating adverts

Watch out for the forthcoming launch of the advertising progamme for the Aquadrome. It was not practical to install seats due to the financial/legal risk to the club, but we are pressing ahead with advertising. Check back soon (launching after Easter 2009) to see the details of selling advertising space to local businesses at £125 per slot on the seating area at the 25m pool in the Aquadrome. Just persuading one company can make a difference. Ask your employer, or a business you use in the Basingstoke & Deane area, or any enterprise you have a relationship with, and you might find they are receptive to the idea.

p.s. Last month, the club was successful in being awarded a £1,000 grant from B&D Borough Council for replacement of the waterpolo goals - thanks to Sue Goodall and Gerry Lay for their application.
