Cranbourne Lessons

There will be no lessons at Cranbourne on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September. There has been a fire which damaged the electrical system. As a result, the water temperature in the pool is too low.

We have been told that everything will be OK by Monday, but do check back on the website for confirmation.

Basingstoke Bluefins Medley Challenge - 12th September 2010

Details of this competition were published very late. This combined with the summer holiday period has resulted in a much lower level of entries from vsiting clubs than we hoped.

To give swimmers more time to enter, and to provide incentives to visiting clubs:

The closing date for this competition is extended to Saturday 11th September.

For every 10 entries from visiting clubs, we will refund £36. For every additional 5 entries, we will refund £24. These payments willbe made to the clubs concerned to use as they wish.

This competition will go ahead. I expect many more entries from Basingstoke Bluefins, but would really like to see more visiting swimmers.

	The challenge has started!

Three of our older swimmers , Gareth Waller, Oliver McSoley, Greg Thomas and club coach Andy Cackett set out from the Aquadrome on Tuesday 3rd August on a 1500+ miles charity cycle on their way to climbing the highest peak in each of the 4 home countries - Snowdon , Slieve Donard, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike. They are raising money for the Basingstoke Bluefins nominated charity Cystic Fibrosis as well as the club itself.

Having cycled through Wales and Ireland the boys arrived in Scotland exhausted but in good spirits. They plan to climb Ben Nevis tomorrow (Aug 8th) before starting the long road home through England taking in Scafell Pike, arriving back at the Aquadrome on the weekend of Aug 14/15th.

If you have already donated to this amazing charity challenge then many thanks or if you would still like to, please visit their ‘just giving’ website www.mycharitypage.com/cackett.
